The Abbey Theatre Gets Digital was a strategic plan set out by Abbey Senior Management in collaboration with Accenture, Spector and Microsoft. The thrust of the plan was to optimise how The Abbey Theatre could utilise digital technologies to improve efficiency and lower running costs. The project covered all areas of their business from web presence right through to communication and online collaboration.

As part of the first phase of delivery Spector, with the support Accenture and Microsoft, set out a migration plan to Office 365. The addition of Skype for Business, Yammer and One Drive have further enhanced communication and collaboration.

The staff are more digitally aware and can now share and collaborate with online media both internally and with external stakeholders. The internal infrastructure has been simplified with the removal of the old Exchange server, staff have greater working mobility and we have seen a reduction in email traffic thanks to Skype and Yammer adoption.
